Here are a number of key questions that you can use to assess yourself or if you are a manager to develop an ongoing coaching plan for each member of your team. This will help you and them to achieve the level you need to perform at, in order to be successful in your company’s sales environment.
Put a tick by the side of each statement if you think it accurately reflects your performance in the areas of getting more prospects, closing more sales and growing existing business.
Are you meeting your weekly appointments target and is the number of new
meetings consistent from week to week?
Do you take a maximum of 30 minutes to set an appointment?
Close More Sales and Grow Existing Business
How many meetings or discussions does it take you to close a sale? Do you know if
that is the right ratio?
Do you know what the average selling cycle on each of the your most profitable
products/service/solutions is and do you de-emphasise and emphasise prospects
on this basis?
Do you know when to move on and forecast accordingly?
Can you make your solution fit a number of different situations or environments?
Do you spend the appropriate time i.e. between sixty and ninety minutes to prepare for each follow-up appointment?

Do you retain targeted margins 90% of the time?
Do you know the best way to create a climate where the other person feels they’ve won and you’ve met your objective without compromise?
Do you know why it’s a mistake to offer to split the difference?
Do you avoid the trap of discounting without getting something in return?
Do you defend your pricing and answer questions directly and with integrity?
Your Sales Test Score and What It Means

If you score between 17 and 20 on the checklist. You’re an above average, high performer. Level One Performer.
If you score between 11 and 16 on the checklist you are very likely to be a midlevel performer. Level Two Performer.
You’re a “Steady Eddy” but vulnerable due to major dips in sales performance resulting from sales inconsistency. Whilst you tend to hit target it’s never without a struggle! A few small changes would see you achieve exponential sales growth and shoot up to a level 1 performer and beyond.
